Every day, we help people develop strengths, access resources, and build the family and community supports needed to achieve their goals.
Because with support, people are able to realize their potential and make the changes they wish to see in their lives, families, communities and the world.
Together, we will lead the way as agents for action and sustainable change.
We envision a world where all people have access to the opportunities, resources and supports needed to realize their potential, achieve their goals and build brighter futures.
Aspen partners with people to unlock potential and transform lives.
Working with our partners from across sectors, we are building diverse, engaged and supportive communities, addressing social problems, transforming social systems, and helping create the conditions necessary for lasting change.
We hold space for people to be vulnerable without judgement and be brave without fear. We respect individual and collective experiences, ensuring every person who comes through our doors feels safe, supported and heard.
We are stronger together. In recognizing and respecting each other’s strengths and needs, we build more meaningful, constructive relationships and can achieve greater collective impact.
We embrace the value of all people and the humanity that connects each of us with one another. We celebrate our differences and appreciate every person’s unique strengths.
We engage with, support, and advocate for clients, partners and stakeholders, creating opportunities, building and deepening connections, and fostering a sense of hope and belonging.
Our story began in 1984, when Mountain Plains Community Services of Calgary was established to provide programs for foster parents and support services to youth. In 1998, we became Aspen Family and Community Network Society and have since expanded our reach to tackle a wide range of social issues affecting individuals of all ages, their families and communities.
Today, we offer support and assistance to and advocate on behalf of thousands of single parents, new immigrants, Indigenous Peoples, children, youth and families in Calgary and area.
From foster care to homelessness prevention, our programs focus on building capacity, improving access to resources, and developing family and community supports. Everything we do is grounded in research and informed by community priorities, ensuring we are able to track outcomes and measure impact on an individual, familial and community level.
