At Aspen, our goal is to provide every young person with the supportive family-based home environment needed to be their best self.
Our community Support Homes do exactly that, giving children and youth aged 12 to 24 the opportunity to not only learn and grow, but overcome their challenges and thrive.
Our unique Support Home program provides temporary supportive living arrangements to young people involved with Calgary and Area Child and Family Services as well as youth from out-of-town receiving day treatment through the intensive 8- to 12-week Calgary Eating Disorder Program at Alberta Children’s Hospital.
As a licensed caregiver, you provide youth with support, guidance and mentorship, forming part of their core support team. For youth staying in Support Homes as part of the Youth Re-Engagement program, Aspen actively works toward re-uniting the youth with his or her family or securing an alternative permanent living arrangement.
All Support Homes receive free ongoing support and training, as well as a tax-free per diem to cover the costs associated with providing short-term care to a young person. In addition, all Support Homes receive 24-hour access to a support worker, daily or weekly check-ins and invitations to special events for our dedicated caregivers.
Of course, the greatest reward of all is seeing the impact a caring, supportive home can have on the life of a young person when they need it most.
