Family issues can be particularly difficult for young people to navigate. Serving both youth in community placements and youth living in homes where a risk of family breakdown exists, Aspen’s Youth Re-Engagement program works to preserve and reunite families by addressing the root causes and key stressors contributing to issues at home.
Youth participating in the program have an opportunity to temporarily stay at one of Aspen’s licensed Support Homes. There, trained community caregivers form part of the youth’s support team, providing meals, transportation, supervision, encouragement and additional supports, actively working towards reuniting the youth with his or her family.
The goal of the Youth Re-Engagement program is to reunite youth with their families or find alternative permanent living arrangements that best meet the individual youth’s needs.
