Families

Unfortunately, poverty is a family affair. If parents can’t provide the essentials of life, it impacts spouses, children and sometimes their own parents.

A family not working smoothly together needs support to change patterns, develop lasting relationship skills, and learn how to ensure they have adequate finances, access to child care, heat, food and housing—all the elements needed for self-sufficiency, safety and well-being.

Strong families help ensure that the next generation has what it needs to flourish. Our family programs deal with a wide range of issues, including homelessness, parenting, mental health and behavioural issues, relationship and life skills, foster care and family reunification.
