Keeping families safe and sound
Domestic violence doesn’t just hurt individuals and families; it damages our society as a whole. Those who experience or witness violence in the home—the place we should feel most safe—are far less likely to thrive in life.
Alberta has the second highest rate of spousal violence in the country. Every year, the Government of Alberta spends $65 million on crisis services for domestic violence. This doesn’t include what is spent on justice, police, child intervention or health services related to violence in the home.
At Aspen, we believe the best approach to lasting change is one that builds on hope and personal strengths and assets. We work collaboratively and respectfully with families to get to the root causes of problems and help them drive their own journey to healthy relationships and behaviours.
When families are safe and strong, our community is too.
