Building Futures
"I have learned how to deal with stressful situations and to overcome my fears and go beyond my comfort zone."
- Program Participant

Building Futures is a program that considers the individual needs and circumstances of all participants. The goal of the program is to provide participants with the independence and social skills necessary to return to school and/or the skills to obtain and maintain meaningful employment.

Building Futures is broken into two streams: Employability Skills, where the participants will learn the skills important to obtaining and maintaining meaningful employment, and the difference between starting a job and starting a career; and/or Life Skills where they will learn the skills important to building independence, including budgeting, communication, and effective and positive relationship building. These skills are delivered to participants through classroom instruction, goal setting, assignments, games and role plays, guest speakers and off site tours. Each stream of the program is ten weeks in duration and includes a hot lunch program, as well as a three day team building retreat.
