  • In 2007, Aspen worked with 56 individuals between the ages of 15 - 30 to learn valuable life skills, including budgeting, cooking and conflict resolution.
  • Building Futures helps prepare youth for employment by teaching resume writing and interviewing techniques.
  • Youth are paid minimum wage while taking part in the 12-week program.
  • Participants enjoy the program's regular wilderness retreats.

Many young people encounter challenges coping within the mainstream educational system. The Building Futures program provides employment training to youth who have left school and are having difficulty obtaining and maintaining employment.

Building Futures focuses on social and life skills training or support for those going back to school. Workshops on job-hunting, resume writing, career planning and academic upgrading are also offered.

Who Can Access This Program?
Youth who have dropped out of school and are having difficulty obtaining or maintaining employment.

How Do You Access This Program?
Referrals are accepted from all sources including: individuals, families, schools, community groups, service providers, police and probation officers.
