- In 2007, Aspen provided over 300 'bed nights' to people attending the intensive 8 to 12-week program.
Aspen contracts with the Calgary Health Region to provide residential support to young adults aged 14 and up attending the Eating Disorder Clinic. The Eating Disorder Community Support Home program provides a supportive living environment for young persons while they attend the 8 to 12-week Eating Disorder Day Treatment program at the Alberta Children's Hospital. The Community Support Home program provides support homes for up to three clients at a time, most of whom are from communities outside of the Calgary area.
Support homes are recruited from within the Calgary community to provide a temporary residence, transportation, support and encouragement in the development of healthy lifestyle changes. A support worker trains, supervises and assists the support home providers. They also work closely with those attending the program, as well as staff from the Eating Disorder Clinic.
